Swimming Lesson 2.Szekeres
Ariel and Melody
This artwork was based on 'The Swimming Lesson' with Tilaweed and Ariel. While animating Ariel at Disney during the production of "The Little Mermaid Return to the Sea", I had the Tilaweed piece on show above my desk. Inspired by that, I was asked to do a new version of it for the cover of an internal employee magazine with Ariel and her daughter Melody. This was the result. This was work I did gratis, so the art and its usage remains my property, however the characters belong to Disney.
I had this artwork on display for years in my Black Mermaid Productions website gallery:

I decided to upload it here on Deviantart because it was sourced without my permission.
It was with great disappointment to see that my artwork had been pilfered in this way. At no time was I contacted by the copying artist, and no permissions were given that my artwork could be used to be duplicated in this way. I'd ask that anyone that does see this copy makes it known to the artist that this is not acceptable behavior.
When artwork is copied, at least, a credit of the originating artist should be attributed to the artwork with a link to the sourced artwork.
The plagiarized artwork has now been removed with an apology from the artist. I thank the artist for respecting my work.

This is really beautiful and I imagine this is a deleted scene where Ariel and Melody were swimming together as mermaids.😊
